Multi-level governance module

Framing also plays an important role in the MLG-module.

It deals with frames in a multi-level governance perspective. The German, Swedish and Slovenian teams are looking at frames from national level actors, how they developed and which actors were parts of the policy-formulation process. The German study focuses on the framing entrepreneurship of interest groups in Germany, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands, building on interviews with policy-makers and interest groups, a content analysis of documents for 20 EU policy issues, and case study methods for a selected sub-set of 5-6 issues.

Parallel framing studies will be conducted in Slovenia, as well as for the EU level, ultimately resulting in a comprehensive cross-national comparison of six countries and multilevel study of framing dynamics in the EU.
